We have absolutely no way of knowing about Nin's past, as he has never said a word since the day he showed up in Lon's trashcan. By his constant digging Kazuki and Lon have decided that he must be looking for something, but they have no way of knowing what.
Also, Nin has a lot of scarring on his face, which he covers constantly with a scarf, and this may have something to do with his silence. He seems to have had some kind of training as a ninja, but nothing extensive. Relationships:
Kazuki:
Nin is quick to respond to Kazuki, and seems to like observing him and trying to be like him. When Kazuki teaches him or plays games with him, Nin is very attentive and seems to be absorbing the knowledge. He seems to enjoy driving Kazuki crazy by standing still and pointing at him, which makes Kazuki wonder what exactly he is trying to say. Lon:
Nin tends to stay away from Lon for the most part, as Lon is quick to yell and lose his temper when Nin digs through his personals or steals fish off of a plate as Lon is trying to cook. Nin seems to have the same fascination for watching Lon that he does for Kazuki, but doesn't mimic Lon's behavior as often. Miscellaneous:
- Nin's clothing is old and tattered, and is being held together by numerous belts and mending attempts that Nin has done himself.
- Nin's eyes are very expressive and beautiful, and their bright color is a vast contrast to the rest of him which is very pale and washed-out.
- Nin will disappear for hours or sometimes days at a time, only to be found in the strangest places (under the couch, in a trashcan under the trash bag, or in the back of a closet).
- Nin is attracted to anything soft, and is constantly bringing home stuffed animals and other pieces of fluff that he picks up during his digging.
- Sallie suggested the name Nin, and as she did the correspondence with him being silent (which I had decided before I presented him to her) struck me immediately and the name stuck.
