Not much is known about Kazuki's past, as he has only selective memories about it. At some point in his very early childhood he was taken from his home and put into a scientific testing facility. It's not really known why Kazuki was chosen for the experiment or what it was about, but the side effects manage to cause mayhem: he is prone to blacking out, and during these periods his body changes into that of a squid, which is one of the few things that Lon is deathly afraid of (tentacles to be precise). These periods usually don't last long (although in some cases they have lasted for days) and Kazuki doesn't remember anything that happens during these times. The only way to find a cure would be for him to go back to the facility he escaped, and that would only cause him to be subject to more experiments. Lon, however, devotes time each night to studying to perhaps be able to help Kazuki. Kazuki is very caring, fun-loving, and has a purity about him that drives Lon crazy. He has a very innocent view of the world ("But Lon, we should all share! Sharing is good!") and believes that everyone is good because he can't understand why anyone would want to hurt anyone else. When Kazuki first escaped from the facility, he managed to bump into Lon who was outside reading by his university. Kazuki, while still very high on drugs from his last experiment, identified Lon as his "Love" and then collapsed. Lon brought Kazuki, who he thought was a woman, home to his house and watched over him until he woke up. Kazuki quickly made himself at home, despite Lon's initial objections. As Kazuki hasn't had a 'normal' life, Lon works to introduce him to everything he can and teach him the basics. Kazuki has feelings for Lon that develop quickly and deeply, but Lon has trouble returning these feelings (at least in the public eye.) Kazuki goes out of his way to make Lon happy, even with Lon's constant cold shoulder. Nin:
One morning Kazuki heard a noise outside and found little Nin digging around inside the garbage can. Kazuki brought him inside, cleaned him up, and tried to talk to him. Nin never answered. Kazuki offered him a place to stay and Nin's eyes lit up, he hugged Kazuki, and then started digging through the kitchen cabinets.
Kazuki thinks of Nin as a child (maybe his and Lon's?) and takes care of him and constantly tries to teach him as much as he can (which is all knowledge that he is getting from Lon). Also Kazuki protects Nin from Lon's anger when Lon comes home to discover something in the house torn apart from one of Nin's digging escapades. Kazuki has decided that whatever it is Nin is looking for he is going to help him find it. Miscellaneous:
- If you ask Sallie, Kazuki was modeled after her. But she's just silly. She also assisted me with the name.
- Kazuki's barbell is actually a tracking device that was installed by the facility he escaped from. It, however, is malfunctioning, which allowed Kazuki to escape and stay hidden.
- Kazuki is being chased by Renford, a vicious bounty hunter of an elite guild that will stop at nothing to return him to the facility.
- When Kazuki met Lon he had long hair, but cut it short to look more like Lon. This prompted Lon to start tying his hair back all the time.
- Kazuki believes that Lon will lead him to an ignition of his forgotten memory.
